Today is Peace Day. Each year the International Day of Peace is observed around the world on 21 September. The United Nations General Assembly has declared this as a day devoted to strengthening the ideals of peace, both within and among all nations and peoples.

This year’s theme is Partnerships for Peace – Dignity for all. As UN Messenger of Peace, Dr. Jane Goodall is attending a special ceremony at the UN headquarters in New York City highlighting how important it is, now more than ever, that we learn to live in peace and harmony with each other and with the natural world.
